Short description

The Sniper - Training Techniques and weapons is a lot better book than we expected. This is the book to start with if you now knothing about sniping and snipers. The book has 90 photographs and about 30 drawings. The first chapter is exellent, it digs into the history of sniping starting from 1066. The 44 page history chapter (as are all following chapters) is spiced up with first hand accounts from soldiers and civillians alike. Chapter 2 is also a good read, especially to those who don't know what the job is really about. It has several stories from actual snipers from various conflicts over the years. The same quality continues on chapter 3 where the author describes the training required to become a sniper. Chapter 4 concentrates on law enforcement use of the sniper. The final chapter has a collection of great sniper shots from the American civil war to present day. The weapons drawings and pictures are all good, but nothing that hasn't been seen before in similar books. All in all, $16.00 for a hard cover book of this quality is very reasonable.
