The
MPB or the Multi Purpose Bag, is essentially a good quality range
bag. As it's name implies it can be used to many other purposes
as well, but the lay out and size of the bag makes it an excellent
bag for carrying around everything one might need on firing range.
The bag is made of the same heavy duty nylon as the 2-gun carrying
case and it also has a DuPont teflon coating. It also
comes with a carrying strap than can be detached a secured away
in one of the many pockets.
The
MPB has 5 compartments in addition to the main compartment that
is divided by removable piece of velcro coated inner wall. The
removable divider has a loop that takes in just about any service
pistol and three elastic loops that work perfectly for securing
magazines on the divider with the pistol. The loops for the pistol
and magazines are attached on the divider by velcro and can be
moved around freely if the "factory set up" is not satisfactory.
The main compartment also has two pockects on the inside ends,
big enough for staplers, timers and such.
On the long sides of the bag there are two big foam padded pockets
that have a slightly different configurations within. On the short
ends there are smaller pockets, two on the other side and one
bigger one on the other. On the top there are also loops for attaching
a flashlight.
Like on the 2-gun carrying case the workmanship on the MBP is
good. Good quality zippers, nice stiching and heavy duty nylon.
No complaints there.
We took the MPB to the range and for testing purposes packed in
everything one might want to take along to the range and then
some.
The MBP swallowed everything and there was still plenty of room
to spare.
we packed in :
-
ear mufs
- Glock 17
- 3 magazines
- timer
- calculator
- two books
- assortment of pens, pencils and felt tips
- Maglite
- tac light
- cleaning kit & gun lube
-
holster
- mag pouch
- knife
- stapler
- 120 rounds of .308 Win ammo
- 240 rounds of .223 ammo
We packed in quite a lot of ammo to test if something would rip
because of the weight. The result was negative. The bag was tossed
around on the range for a few days with a hefty load of ammo and
there were no problems. In case you are wondering the MPB does
take in most laptops, but "full size" laptops will not
fit in the padded side pockets.
The MPB is a good and versatile bag from Maxpedition. |
