The
scope arrived in a neat black and yellow cardboard box with some
warranty cards and a manual. The manual didn't say anything about
the scopes reticle, so we measured the reticle and found it to
be closer to a Army mil-dot reticle than to a USMC mil-dot reticle.
The model in question is also available with an illuminated reticle
with adjustable illumination, but we decided to stay clear of
that model because we were warned that the illumination is too
bright for low-light use even with it's lowest setting. The image
on the tested scope is surprisingly clear, although obvously inferior
to more expensive scopes. The scope has 1/8 MOA clicks on the
vindage and elevation turrets, wich is a bit too much for our
taste. The clicks are precise and and audible and the knobs are
finger adjustable although covered with caps. The focusing mechanism
seems tight and snug, but the power ring on the other hand feels
a bit loose and there are no numbers marked between 18 and 24.
The scope performed well throught the square grid test, although
only time will tell how the scope stands up to everyday use &
abuse.
