Defence Council. Shortly after that, the Nazi takeover caused the plant to be forced into producing and repairing military arms. By 1945 the plant was back to creating a range of military and civilian arms. As the years rolled on, CZ became one of the most popular brands of semi-auto's in America.

CZ has been a leader in firearms manufacturing ever since their inception in 1936. In the CZ factory, a team of over 2,500 people perform precision shearing, cold forging, shielded welding, and electro-spark machining. Productivity and consistent accuracy are also increased by the use of a multi-spindle CNC machining center. Metallurgical operations involved in manufacturing CZ firearms include heat treatment and surface finishing. CZ also has its own precision casting foundry, based upon the lost wax method. Design, machining and surface finishing take place on location at the CZ factory, as does the firearms testing. Primarily an export company, CZ regularly exports 90% of its firearms to over 80 countries around the world.
