| The
Sniper Training cubes was kindly sent to us for testing
by Just
Shoot Me Products. The idea behind the sniper
cube is that it's virtually indestructible and when it's
shot it bounces to new location. This makes the shooting
more fun and challenging as the with each shot the cube
moves to different location at a different distance. In
our experience for this idea to work the cube requires a
relatively flat shooting range with not too much vegetation.
The Sniper Training Cube
When first handling the cubes they seemed too hard to whit
stand shooting without cracking or breaking but we were
soon proved wrong. We put about 50 shots of .308 through
the blue cube and the result was a only collection of small
black marks on the surface. Only the shots that had hit
the very edge of the cube had managed to make a small mark
on the cube.
The
orange cube was given a harsher treatment. It was shot with
.223, 7.62x39, .308, and 9mm. The shot count was in the
hundreds. Again no real damage was done to the cube, only
the amount of the black "entry wounds" was higher.
When shooting the cube with .223 and 7.62x39 (AR-15 &
AK) the cube seemed to be too heavy and did not move very
much. Of course the 9mm gave the same results. When shot
with .308 the cube moved as promised.
The
Prairie Dog
Along
with the cube we also received a Prairie Dog made of the
same material as the cube. The varmint measures 7 by 3 and
weighs 1.2lbs. The varmint was actually more rewarding to
shoot as it was lighter and it bounced wildly when shot
right. Like the cube, the varmint proved also durable and
we were only able to produce some minor scars on it. The
Prairie dogs we received had flat back side, but the current
versions sold are full 3d.
The cube and the varmint proved to be very popular among
the people at the range. In fact, due to popular demand
we actually had to leave one of the cubes and the varmint
behind when we left the range. We are expecting to have
the orange cube back soon to able to take pictures of it's
current condition.
UPDATE*
We
got the orange cube back. We haven't got and accurate round
count of how much it has been shot, but judging from the
marks on it the shot count is in the hundreds. So far it
has held up very well.
pros
+ virtually indestructible
+ works as promised
+ safe to shoot
We
were forced to give the product 5 stars. The cube did everything
it was promised to do and it was darn fun too. |
